Ebay

When I buy something from ebay, do they just drop it off in my mailbox, or do they knock at my door and make me sign something?
uh.. depends how people send it. If the person sending it requires it than it can be done. Most of the time it’s just dropped off at your door.
o ok because im only 14, how do you know if they want you to sign the thing.
Generally, you can choose when you pay – there are options in the postage, one is ‘registered’ which means you sign.
But note, that there is no restriction on YOU signing for it, just because you’re 14 – the signing is just acknowledgement of reciept. Most posties will allow anyone from that address to sign (just not some onknown on the street..LOL!)

generally when you insure a package “pay extra so if the post office, ups etc…… lose it, its insured”, you need to sign for it, it dont matter if you are only 14 you are only signing for it, anyone can, its just to verify then they dropped it off into someones hands.
also a person might pay extra for it to be registered mail, this protects them, since you need to sign for it, since well who is to say the post office actually delivered it without proof, that is what tracking numbers are for, and on registered mail, the post office wont just drop it off and have someone like your neighbor in your apartment steal it and you never receive it and file a dispute saying they never received it, but like above posted, you dont need to show id, its just to show that a living person who lives at that address signed for it.
The Guy knocks on the door and says,”sign here”.
joking apart, if you read the mailing directions it will say “registered post’=sign. “Courier”=sign. Most other things are left at the door. But you can ask the seller if a signature is required.
14 is fine, you have to be 13 or older.
theres a few ways for the package to arrive. You can go pick it from their place if its an option, it can be delivered to the closest post office and you go there to pick it up or the courier comes to your house and you sign for it

“To register, go to the registration page, and follow these steps:
1. Enter your contact and personal information.
Your contact information includes your name, address, and phone number. Personal information includes your date of birth to verify that you are at least 18 years of age. ”
You can’t get anything from Ebay unless you are 18 unless you are going through someone else’s account such as a parent who is 18 or older. You can have someone bid on an item for you and have it shipped to you but you have to be verified 18 in order to set up your own account. Since you are only 14 you can’t get your own account. Are you using someone else’s account then?
