Dv tape transfer adobe premiere? firewire (right framerate?)

August 8th, 2013

hey guys
i hope you can help.
i have some dv tapes which i am capturing on to my computer via sony camera hvr-z1 (this wasn’t used to record the footage)
i did the transfers but the quality isn’t that great. its recorded on mini dv tape…i am using adobe premiere.
is there a way i can find out what frame rate the tapes were recorded in, so i can get the right settings in the programme?
i tried dv pal widescreen….but pictures seems to be slighly out of focus/blurred
please help
thanks

Are you sure the original footage is not out of focus to start with? It sounds weird it would get out of focus on transfer.
But anyway, that camera seems to have a PAL/NTSC switch, make sure you have the right format selected.
