November 18th, 2013

I’ve been looking everywhere for a solution to import mkv’s into premiere. I’ve tried Moyea but it doesn’t seem to work with 5.5. Does anyone have an idea?
I would convert them but I cba to wait hours before I can do anything.

I know, and extracting the video source is no problem (and takes only a jiffy), but then you’re still stuck with the h246 file.

You need the Moyea Importer for Adobe Premiere. It will enable import of MKV. After you install the plugin, right click on the project window and choose “Import”, browse the MKV file and it shows up in the file browser of Adobe Premiere. You can also go to the “Moyea Importer Plug-in” option from the drop-down list of the file types. Select the MKV file and it will be loaded to premiere project window. Then drag the MKV from the project window to the timeline to edit.

I tried that already. I installed it, then used a hex editor to ‘register’ it. It’s possible I’ve done something wrong but …. *shrug*.
