Duplicate file finder?

August 8th, 2016

I have a very large collection of ebooks. I have sorted them according to epub, mobi and PDF. The problem is that some are listed title first and others are listed author first – to further complicate things, some of the authors names are first, last and others are vice versa. Can anyone suggest a duplicate file finder I could run on my drive to weed these out before I start to post them up on ? No one wants duplicates and my files are full of them! Thanks in advance!

I use the free one a lot – it finds dupe names or partial names and, even more useful, it find dupe files by internal scan.
Great for weeding out duplicate porn… hehehe..
Give it a try.
You can also do it manually from a cmd line:
Dir /s *hunter*
Will fine any file with the word ‘hunter’ anywhere in its name and it will look in all sub-directories.

Thanks, I will give that a try. I had one but the first name, last name and reverse thing was confusing it. I also found a great free one just called Search Everything. It will list the all like the command line and you can delete, copy, etc from that screen but I was seeking the lazy way out!

If the names are as jumbled as you say then there probably isn’t an easy way out.. at some point you will have to manually select and delete..
