Download Interruption Just As Download Completes
December 17th, 2017
I’ve tried using various internet browsers such as Google Chrome and Internet Explorer and I receive different type of errors, but both happen when the file completes itself.
In Chrome I get a “Unknown network error” and in Internet Explorer I get a “File Interruption Error” which seems weird.
I disabled my ESET NOD32 Antivirus Web access and antiphishing protection setting and I still get the error.
Any idea on what could possibly be the issue here?
Thanks.
are you using wifi? if so, your connection could keep dropping. mine kept doing this. so i bought a wifi dongle and i’m getting better speeds with no drops.
Yes, I’m using a WiFi connection, but the thing is that the files only get the error when they’re complete, not half way through, so I’m sure that’s not the problem.
What firewall are you using.
Once I had problem with Kaspersky firewall doing the same thing.
I disabled my ESET NOD32 Antivirus Web access and antiphishing protection setting and I still get the error.
Press f5 on the main screen
Web and email > Web access protection > uncheck enable http protocol checking.
Or do your downloading in a dedicated virtual machine.

i had this. if the connection drops for just a second or 2, it can corrupt the download, even though it looks normal.
are you using browser to download or a download manger?
Try to use jdownloader.
see if you still have problem if you connect direct to router with ethernet lead. if you dont, its a wifi connectivity problem.
try this first
I’ve been experiencing the same thing. In Chrome I get “Failed – Network error” just when download finishes and I end up without a file. This started happening recently and I don’t know why nor I have a solution.
Seriously this always always relates to the HIPS in your internet security suite or network IPS if your in a business environment.
The fact that it happens right at the end of the download is a dead giveaway.

Extremely late reply, but the problem was my Antivirus. I changed to COMODO Internet Security and now all my downloading works out fine.
Thanks for the help to all you guys!
God bless, Jesus loves you!
Hey guys, I'm currently having this problem where I can download files from here, but when they're complete an error comes up.

As it happens when the file is complete, 99.99% done, or close, I’d say its still detecting a virus.
Disabling web access and anti-ohish doesn’t disable the hard drive file virus scan – what’s happening is that the browser or download manager is saving the file where you told it to and the AV scan is scanning and quarantining the file.
Have a look in eset’s quarantine section and you might see that file there.
It’s entirely up to you if you want to right click the tray icon and “temporarily disable protection” – I wouldn’t do it.. if it has found a virus then you don’t want it.
Sure it might be a false positive, but are you willing to gamble your bank account on it being “false”.
** And I’ve seen a rise is these so-called “false positives” – steam_api.dll mainly.. I don’t understand why one crack can be seen as a virus and another crack works perfectly with no virus signatures.
I just don’t trust them.
I’d rather miss out on a game then be made penniless…
