every time i do a defrag with o&o and then run system mac it says i have 110gb misaligned files ie fragmented and wants to basically defrag again.
is this normal and should i just sack one of the defrag methods.
what causes one to be so different from the other when they are both meant to do same job??
any wise advise?
Probably because different programs have different routines to decide where to place the files on the drive.
As a quick example, take Perfect Disc.. it has optimisation routines to decide where best to put files.
One routine puts folders first, modified files last, another one might do the opposite.
If I chose one and then run another different app for it it’ll see all those relocated files as fragmented..
Out of the two, I’d stick with O&O.
You should only use one defragmenter. Check the options/preferences of your defrag software to see what it’s doing.
