Delete unallocated disk

Hi , i just plugged in my new 3TB drive and im only able to get 2TB out of it. There’s 700gb i can’t format. anyone could help? thanks

Open command prompt (Start-search CMD), type diskpart, then enter, then type list disk, enter, then select disk X (X is whatever number your 3TB disk is), enter, then type clean, enter. Wait for it to finish then create a new partition or partitions in disk management.

Are you by any chance using Windows XP ? XP can only utilise around 2.25GB as it stands.
If this is the case then use Windows Vista/7/8.
You tried formatting it with disk management tool ?
Start > Put this into search and run it “diskmgmt.msc” (without the quotes)

Just to clarify, that is the limit of a MS DOS partition using 512 size sectors, its not a limit on the total size of the drive per say.
