Currency exchange dilemma

May 5th, 2014

Hi
I’m going to serbia in about 2 months time and will like to ask about currency exchange recommendations.
I know that serbia accepts euros and their local currency (dinars). Same with a number of other european countries that i’ve been to. But i noticed that it’s always in the local currency that things are priced cheaper (is this true in serbia aswell?)
So is it better to change from “Singapore Dollars” to “Serbian Dinars” or “Euros”?
Anyone knows? i want to save money lol

mmmm…Serbia as far as I know didn’t fully converted or it’s not in the course of conversion so while in Serbia (check the dinar inflation tendencys if they high keep euros at hand & go to the local serbian bank once in awhile) go on dinars in FULL so you can buy from anywhere!!

what i’m asking is based on economic fluctuations and currency strength fluctuations…. is it better to get dinars or euros?
I ask this cause when i was in switzerland the pricing of items were more expensive in euros than swiss francs….
Is it the same in serbia?

You can`t pay anything in EUROS in Serbia, at least not legally. The only currency is dinar, and it`s about 100 dinars for 1 euro. Always go to the “Exchange offices” cause they have lower margins than the banks!
BTW, Why are You coming here: Business or pleasure? And what city?

I will repeat myself: EURO is not the legit currency, It is not permited by law to accept euros in the shops. Some shops do accept it, but …
Anyway, Welcome to BELGRADE!!!!
