CPU Usage has shot up with this recent Windows 7 update.
April 9th, 2014
The updates contain, Windows 7 service pack 1, Updates for .NET framework and some security updates.
I am using the Home version on a dell inspiron, usually the cpu usage is below 5% but now it varies from 30-60%, while performing the same tasks as before.
The machine heats up a lot, am not able to put it on my lap even.
How can i resolve this? Thanks.
uninstall the latest update that you had and see if it goes back to what it was ??
From where shall i uninstall them specifically?

Which process?
Mainly it was SearchFilterHost around 30%,dwm.exe around 10-11% , others are not significantly increased but still the CPU usage is high.
Btw what is the best CPU Usage percent rate for potimum performace?
Please Help because my PC is burning so fast!
even i wanna know how to reduce CPU usage, when i use some heavy progs the fan of my SMPS runs as fast as its runned when the CPU is just turned on.
