Correct Ripping?

July 26th, 2016

I have some sets of dvd’s lying in my box down in the basement.
Old stuff and some new stuff and I would like to share them but not entirely sure how to “Correct Rip” them?
I mean I have the dvd with the episode but now what, using a free video convertor is enough?
I must mention i know that there are rules about releasing stuff but these ain’t worldwide stuff it’s for a specific location.
any suggestions?

From DVD to DVD use DVDFab Platinum
From DVD to HDD and then to DVD ( as AVI or something other ) use DVD Decrypter and for burning Nero Express 8 or COnvertXtoDVD

Let me check if I got the picture:
I have an ep in my DVD I use DVDFab Platinum with the rules from The XviD release 2009 (Size ~ 349-350mb for 45 minute) Set the Outpot as an AVI and that’s all right?

The “correct” way to encode a dvd to xvid/avi is to use Gordian knot. At least, this is what the scene groups use. Below is a guide that may be of use. Although it is quite a long guide and perhaps a bit daunting-looking, it actually isn’t too difficult once you have grasped a few basics. If you decide to go down this route I (and I’m sure others here) will be quite happy to help
