convert vob to avi

hello i downloaded a movie and it contains video ts and audio ts like in dvd.
how can i convert this in avi?

If you have Nero installed go to the install directory (Program Files > Ahead > Nero for Version 6 or Progran Files > Nero for version 7 and open the Nero.exe file directly (I right click it and send to desktop create shortcut for convienience). Then you will have opened Nero Burning Rom directly without going thru Start Smart or Vision Express or other crap.
On the left make sure its set to DVD then select the DVD-Video icon in the drop down, and then hit NEW and make sure your DVD-ROM drive is listed at the top. What you end up with is a red VIDEO_TS folder on the left, so scroll on the right to your files and highlight all the vob, ifo, bup files and drag them to the left pane into the red VIDEO_TS folder. Hit the burn Icon at the top and select a label name (its not important you can leave the default NEW if you want) and a burn speed thats at least half of your rom drive or medias speed which ever is lower (Rom drive burns dvd at 16x but media is 8x dvd so burn half the lowest or 4x).
Something you have to watch for is if the dvd came from a PAL or NTSC copy. If you have a regular set top player it might only recognize dvd’s from your area and if your in a PAL area and the dvd is NTSC it probably will not play. You can use an ID software like the free GSpot to look at one of the main VOB files to see if its framerate is 25.000(PAL) or 23.976/29.971(NTSC). There is away to change it, but you would lose your menu and its another story.
