Convert DTS to AC3 audio for playback on TV

May 24th, 2014

I have an LG TV which doesn’t have the licence for DTS so I’m unable to get the audio for many video files that I download.
Is there a quick and easy way to simply convert the DTS audio to AC3? I’ve looked online extensively and it seems so complicatd to do.
Thanks

I always used to to this with megui. All you have to do is extract the streams from your original file (making sure that the audio stream is set to extract as AC3) and then use to mkv muxer to put the file back together again.

Thanks for the reply.
I have absolutely no clue how to use this program. Can you help?
The files I’m trying to sort out are MKV.
