Choosing a conpatable OBD cable

Hey WBB members! I am in need of some help, particularly with finding a cable that will be compatible with OBDII software such as ScanXL and Auto Engenuity’s scan tool (both found in this forum). I cannot seem to find one so any help?

If there is no solution, could someone recommend me a cable and software that has the software available on this forum, (I tend to lean away from freeware), I just need a cable + software to run on dodge, ford, and Toyota models!
