Changing annoying MS office 2013 display settings

August 7th, 2016

Hello,
I have Word 2013, and I often use the new read mode to read documents (Mostly for studying). I just scroll down with the arrows, and it’s all fine. that is – until I leave the Word window, go to some other window and then go back to Word – it just automatically scrolls back to the last place I clicked with my mouse, and I need to scroll all the way back to the page I was on. This drives me crazy – I don’t even know how MS programmers thought it would be helpful – why on earth would I want to go back to where I randomly clicked for the last time instead of just continue to read from where I left the window? It also dose this every time I change the windows’ size.
I’ve searched for a solution, in the display setting and on google, but couldn’t find one.
Is there any way I can change it, so it won’t do it?
And if I wasn’t clear enough about the problem, here is an example:
I read the document on Word, and just click on some random word on page 3. I keep scrolling down with the arrows, and get to page 42. Then, I want to check something over the internet, go to Firefox, and when I come back to Word, I see the page automatically scrolling to page 3. I want it to stay on page 42. It also happens on the regular print mode, but this makes more sense.

Answer #1
That’s one of the reasons I stayed with v2010.

Not a real fix but before you leave the page to do something else click on a word on that page so it will come back to where you were…

Yeah well, this is what I’m trying to avoid since I go from one window to another quite a lot and i don’t always remember to click.
