Changed settings so windows was not on default monitor help?

September 4th, 2013

Basically i changed settings in nview, the display program for nvidia because was trying new cable. now when i start up windows it goes to black screen just with mouse cursor.
Windows XP Pro
Nvidia 7800gs card
I have tried starting up in safe mode but will not let me load up nview settings.
Also have tried reinstalling driver on new settings but the reinstall keeps failing.

Answer #1
start up in safe mode remove nview and reboot to normal mode
once your screen is back then you can re install nview
Answer #2
yeh not a bad idea mate ill go try it now thanks
Answer #3
ok
let us know if it works
Answer #4
no didnt make a difference
Answer #5
does your board have built in graphics ?
the change you made in nview may have changed a bios settings on which display to use
move the cable to the onboard graphics and see if the display works
or
go into bios and change the settings to display graphics on the pci slot instead of onboard graphics
other options (boards without built in graphics)
1.boot in safe mode hit start and search for device manager
open display adaptors and right click to uninstall the drivers.
Windows should default to the built in generic driver
reboot the pc and see if it works
then reinstall nview
or
2. another option is safe mode systems restore to an earlier date
