Can’T update my ipod touch 4G

August 8th, 2013

I tried to update my ipod touch 4G from 4.3.3 to 5.0.1 but I always get errors. The most common error is error 3194.

TinyUmbrella automatically adds tinyumbrella.hosts into etc folder, and edit hosts file with apple IP (fake server)
Anyway, go to
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
Open hosts with notepad (run it as administrator)
Delete all apple lines (apple IP)
Save (not like TXT but like same file)
Restart computer
Restore!

LOL, sorry but that is nonsense…
Don’t worry… You are allowed to restore your device.. Don’t be paranoid, everything is ok…
Just clean hosts file and delete tinyumbrella.hosts, then reboot
Open iTunes and do restore or download 5.0.1 IPSW and do SHIFT+Restore from DFU…
If you need something more I will be back online in 1 hour.
