Cannot update the graphics card GTX 570

October 30th, 2020

My computer: i7-2600 8gb ram Geforce GTX 570 Windows 7 64-bit I have driver 285.62 already 3 years old driver from 24th October 2011!!!
I cannot update the graphics card.
I always try a clean installation in advanced mode to delete all the previous drivers and data of the graphics card.
When I try to install a newer driver in regular mode of windows, the screen shut down at the middle of the installation tells that the mode not supported and the refresh rate or the resolution changes to higher that my screen can handle
and then I have to restart the computer by pressing the restart button on the computer. The I try in safe mode of windows and the installation seems to be finished successfully and I restart the computer but it looks like no driver is installed!!!
Every game that I try to run tells that I dont have d3d39 or another errors like there is no driver of the graphics card.
But only when I install back to the old driver 285.62 everything works but I cannot play normally new games because it’s too old driver.
I tried everything and I am already 3 years with the driver 285.62 and I cannot install newer driver than 285.62
It even looks like the driver is installed in the ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS but the driver not work actually.

Only if I install back the driver 285.62 it works but I cannot already play normally games with so old driver!!!!!
WTF?!

Use DDU in Safe Mode (you need .NET framework 2.0 or higher installed)

what to do now? only try to install a driver in safe mode? because in regular mode the monitor shut down and i must restart the computer by pressing the reset button of the computer
Answer #3
You shouldn’t really need to install the driver in safe mode, have you tried doing it normally ? Perhaps before you were getting some sort of conflict that was causing your monitor to shut down ?
If it doesn’t work, then just use DDU and start again, then install in safe mode.

if i try to install a driver which is not the 285.62 in regular mode the monitor shut down and the driver not installed
only when i try to install a driver which is not the 285.62 in safe mode the monitor does not shut down and sometimes it even install the driver successfully but then after the restart of the computer the driver does not work like the driver is not installed and i even dont have programs like NVIDIA CONTROL PA
but the installation of the driver 285.62 works in safe mode and in regular mode with no problems and this is the only driver that works
i tried now install driver 335.23 in regular mode and the driver installed but it again not works and i even dont have NVIDIA CONTROL PA and error in the DEVICE MANAGER

maybe my windows is corrupted
but it’s not a new problem
i even cannot install programs like DAEMON TOOLS or ALCOHOL 120% because when it installs its driver i get an error that the driver cannot be installed
so the windows is corrupted i have to format the computer
Answer #5
Try the newest driver from GeForce.com version 337.88

Answer #6
disable any antivirus or malware protection, and when installing the driver, do an alternate click on the .exe, and select “run as administrator” many programs have to be installed as administrator.. this could also be the problem with daemon tools and alcohol 120%

i dont have no one antivirus because also the protection of it does not work in all antivirus because the system is corrupted very hard i tried as administrator a lot of times and it does not help
Answer #8
I noticed from your screenshot that you had things like Microsoft Visual C+++ 2013 installed on 1/1/2011 !…That don’t look right, is you clock even going right date ?
Probably heaps of corruption. So a clean reinstall of Windows would be the go..
Answer #9
Have you tried installing it with your screen set to the lowest possible refresh rate and resolution?
Answer #10
i made format of the windows and installed everything and now everything work
