It honestly won’t matter if Vista is installed or not, since you should be able to just format the drive with the Windows XP disc.
i know..thats what i thought,,but the computer wont let the disc load up all the way
you could may be try another disc to make sure the problem isn’t with your disc?
You may try disabling AHCI in your bios.
Does this lite version include drivers with it? Be sure it doesn’t contain drivers like sata drivers for hard drives as this can cause compatibility issues. This happened to me so I just made my own version by using nlite, very simple and had no problems installing.
That is also the same thing with my acer laptop so i gave up with it and just use vista
You need the SATA drivers for your laptop, and all other drivers too for that matter.
SATA drivers need to be slepstreamed onto the Windows CD using NLITE.
Check you ram memory compatibility if you have made changes in the last days.
Then make sure that the cd/dvd is bootable. And not in the end after all the hard disk to be blank clean at least the partition where the windows goes C:\
P.S.: I use some tricks with my win98 cd but that is not officially recomended to say’it here
Ok, I know the problem.
Use a Windows XP cd that which are integreted “SATA drivers”
You winXP cd should have new sata drivers.
