Can my DH55TC run Core i7 2600K?
March 25th, 2014
Sure that depends on the socket of the motherboard and the cpu. I know the i7 2600k is socket 1155. Just check if your motherboard is too
LGA1156 socket
now what? :/
Kyle664 replied: As the topic name suggests, can I run it? Googled it, but no good results..
Take a look at the Intel website, and see what processors the chipset/board supports

Nope.
oh crap.. it doesnt support it.. whats the CHEAPest mobo which supports it?

Getting a 2600K would be pointless on a cheap motherboard. You would be wasting it’s unlocked multiplier.
Didn’t you already just buy an i3?
Don’t mind me asking, but are you addicted to using Helpdesk?

Probably he is addicted to helpdesk. There was a previous topic of 9 pages on gfx card for just 5000 INR which probably still he didnt buy. Now on a i7 whoa!!
If you did get money why not buy a better gfx card why a processor lol
Depending what you want to use your computer for will determine how much you SHOULD spend on a motherboard for this cpu.. if you want general use (then why have you got the i7 if so?) then bare basic is fine but obv gaming you should spend about 100-200 on mobo if your on a budget (based on current prices)
One pin spoils the show … U need a 1155 buddy
To support the features of that i7 2600k CPU you need a mobo with a P67 or Z68 chipset.

Since you are very young I don’t think you’d be using your PC professionally or for work. You’d be using it for gaming and other general purposes. Your core i3 is already a very VERY good gaming CPU and considering only gaming it is even better than several Quad core processors!
In your case an i7 2600K would be an overkill. And even after getting an i7 you would STILL need a GPU to game! So that’s down the drain! You need to invest your wisely. Get a good PSU and a better graphics card and you would be better off than an i7 2600K.

HOW DO YOU KNOW I’M 13 BY ONLY READING AT WHAT I TYPE?

So you are asking when you have NO intention of buying it?

my cousin is thinking about buying it, we bought our PC at the same day at the same time at the same place with almost same specs.. he took 4 gigs of ram, and 500gb hdd, while i took 2 gigs ram and 1 tb hdd.. same processors, same mobo.. i think he’s on warez too.. he wanted to buy a processor, and i want to buy GPU.. he asked me.. he’s not active at wbb..
i5 2500k get that and dont look back!

that sandy bridge thingy wont run on my mobo.. im not buying btw..
Why consider buying a high-end CPU when you (or your cousin) is NOT intending to change hi mobo?
If he wants to keep is mobo, tell him to keep his CPU too as it is a pretty decent CPU. But if he wants to go hi-end, then tell him he will have to change his mobo too.

I told him not to leave me alone with core i3 (DUH!) but he wanted to upgrade it. So I guess he’ll have to buy another mobo.. Mods, close this topic..
