You can give it a try, I replaced a screen from a laptop with an unknow screen from a broken laptop and it worked fine.

its not easy to do tho, your laptop is crammed to the brim with parts that can be broken very easily so unless you know what your doing then i would take it to pc world or summat. I did it to my acer aspire 1350 & trust me its not summat I would do again in a hurry Smile

I am no expert but I do a lot of basic laptop repairs for friends family and a bit of extra cash on ebay.
Changing screens on a laptop is a fairly simple process, usually you have to remove a couple of screws on the main case to get access to the plug into the motherboard then you have to remove the screws holding the screen to the main case. Sometimes the wireless aerial is in there as well but that is easy to disconnect.
As for using another screen from a different laptop you will have to be lucky, the majority of laptop screens differ not only in plug connections but hinges, casing etc. I would suggest trying to find out the screen part number or some such and see what other models it is compatible with or failing that buy a spares or repair laptop of a simialr make on ebay.

You can change the lcd from two laptops using the same lcd, but when I did a quick search, it didn’t look like those two used the same model lcd. Of course you can give it a try, but don’t be heartbroken if it doesn’t work.

The second link indicates that screen is compatible with the following:
...
ACER Aspire 4720 series,
ACER Aspire 5050 Series,
ACER Aspire 5570 series, ...

It does not show your model (4730) so I would say no, it will not work. And frankly, having that information, I would not even try it.
