Buying a new Rig, Need Review

August 28th, 2013

    Processor : INTEL Core i5 2500 3.30Ghz (6MB CACHE)
    Motherboard : Asus P8H67-M PRO
Casing : COOLER MASTER CHASSIS CM GLADIATOR
Graphics Card : ATI Raedon HD 6770
    RAM : CORSAIR DDR3 4GB-1333BUS VALUE SELECT [x2]
Power Supply : COOLER MASTER GX SERIES 750W RS-750-ACAA-E3
    Hard-disk : SEAGATE 250GB 3.5″ HDD 16MB Cache
Optical Drive : HP DVDRW 24X SATA
    Total Amount = 741.08 $

My budget cannot go over 750$ so, is this a good choice? or any another better choice in the same budget?
Answer #1
i would change the PSU and try to get a better GPU.
Answer #2
That PSU is garbage. It goes out of ATX specs after 450W. A decent 300W should run your rig so get a lower wattage higher quality PSU.
Answer #3
THERMALTAKE TR2 700W-NON MODULAR (TR-700PCEU)
http://xsreviews.co.uk/reviews/power-supply-units/thermaltake-tr2-700w/
OR
THERMALTAKE TR2 RX 550W-MODULAR (W0134RE)
How does this look?
Answer #4
I will adding another GPU and making a Crossfire connection later on so I need a higher Wattage PSU.
Answer #5
Switch to the 2500k version of the CPU, shouldn’t be more than just a few bucks extra.
Avoid crossfire if you can, much better with a single faster GPU..

Crossfire with 6770 is not worth it.
Thermaltake TR2 is is okee I guess if it’s the newer model.
Answer #7
Would this GPU work out?
AMD HIS HD 6850
or
AMD XFX HD 6850
which is better?

I don’t have the budget to get a OC capable Motherboard atm.
Answer #8
either would do, if one has a better cooling take that
Answer #9
What I would go for if you wanted an i5 system….

Answer #10
Does that ASUS ATI HD 6770 outpower the ATI HIS 6850?

    INTEL Core i5 2500 3.30Ghz (6MB CACHE)
    Asus P8H67-V
    COOLER MASTER CHASSIS CM GLADIATOR
    ATI HIS HD 6850
    CORSAIR DDR3 4GB-1333BUS VALUE SELECT
    THERMALTAKE TR2 700W-NON MODULAR (TR-700PCEU)

How about this combination?
Answer #11
Does that ASUS ATI HD 6770 outpower the ATI HIS 6850?No. It’s not in the same league.
Oh and if you want this for gaming you should cut the i5, get an i3 and get a better GPU. You will get a lot better performance overall.

You mean this one?
Intel® Core™ i3-2100 Processor
(3M Cache, 3.10 GHz)
Answer #13
Yes, that would do the business at a low cost.
There are ones with higher clock speeds for not much more, the gain is negligible though from such small clock increases.
Answer #14
INTEL CORE i5 2500 3.30Ghz (6MB CACHE) with a ATI HS HD 6850 would work better I think.
I don’t have budget to go higher then ATI HS HD 6850
Answer #15
For video encoding and stuff yes.
For games a i3 and a better gpu would perform much faster.
EDIT:Just seen you edited and changed GPU.
What could you afford in the way of a GPU if you changed to a core i3 cpu?
Answer #16
I understand what your saying, but the cards that are available to me after the ATI HIS HD 6850 go way higher in my budget even after cutting down to an i3.
Answer #17
I see, you should have found a good balance then.
AMD should have a line of GPU’s coming out in the next few weeks or January at the latest.
You could consider waiting for those.
Answer #18
Probably but they’ll probably take atleast 6-7 months to release in Pakistan, way too long to wait.
These are the Cards that availiable to me, you can use this to convert to USD.

Answer #19
That sucks, still you should be happy with a HD6850, what resolution do you game at?
Answer #20
My Current LCD supports 1280×1204.. maybe I’ll get a new higher one later.
Also look up at the screenshot.
