business cards / website (three days to make this happen) possible?

January 23rd, 2020

Hello all, I know some of you here are experts at anything computer-related. I have three days exactly to get about 100 business cards and any kind of decent looking professional website up of me. I know that since this is super last minute that I can just go and get ripped off and pay a ton of money to have someone do this for me but before I get raped at some store in-town I thought I should at least try to inquire about this here to see what is possible. If it is possible to do this all myself then I am sure that someone here will know exactly how to proceed. The website just needs to have probably three or four pages on it. A contact page, an “About Me” page, a page about my consulting work. I was thinking if all else fails then I can just create a website using GoogleSites. I think all the material will still belong to me if I go that route. (WordPress might take too long but I’m not sure…) It also needs to have a “Donate” button option, and some type of blog thing if possible. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Thoughts on how to make this happen?

Business cards are easy, buy the blanks in a pc shop, and use business card software to print them – you need a fairly decent printer.
Website – how much traffic ? I use 1and1 for my sites and domain names, but you can get cheaper. 1and1 are reliable though, and you can even use their software to create a site.

– I do not have a printer but my university does. Will that be ok? If so, I am going to start calling around to find some blanks. – Do you have a good recommendation for the best business card software on WBB? I did a quick search and there are a few options. – For the site, I took a look at 1and1.com and that looks like it will work. Is there anything that I listed that 1and1.com can not do that you see? I’m hoping they can help me with a “Donate” button as well. I am not sure how much traffic. I will use this website while I am in China for networking. I was just told that I needed a website and business cards for “face” purposes. So, as long as it is easy to set up, very professional, and contains what I listed above then I am good to go.
Also for 1and1.com, what is the monthly fee for? I just need a website created. After I return from abroad in about three months, I might not need the site anymore. Or rather it won’t be a big deal about updating it. What would happen if I just get them to create the site for me and pay no monthly fee?

^ I am reading this right now to see if I can do this myself. I have also found a theme that I like. Hopefully, this whole process can be setup and done in an hour or two. http://themeforest.net/item/biosphere-environmental-charity-wp-theme/5409397
A bit of background that I guess I should also mention is that I have had one website in the past. The domain was bought via Networksolutions and the Bluebird.com was my host. Should I just use those two since I already have accounts with them?
Answer #3
Ok, here’s an update: I just set up my former accounts on Bluebird and Network Solutions as well as WordPress. Now I am looking for an appropriate them and I should be good to go. For the business cards, I was going to do my own but I don’t think my library will allow it with their printers. There are some places here that I spoke with on the phone though that said they should be able to get me about 100 business cards for $20 by Tuesday if I proceed with the order soon. I am going to call around very briefly in the morning to check out some dedicated Printing places since the places I spoke with were big stores like UPS and Office Max. I am assuming that dedicated printing businesses will be able to provide me the same offer or a bit more expensive but with much better results. Overall, I am excited to be getting somewhere with this.
