Build Gaming PC

you will need above 800 pounds for a full desktop including keyboard, mouse, screen etc.
you will need above 800 pounds for a full desktop including keyboard, mouse, screen etc.
Building a PC gaming computer won’t cost 800, It will only cost 300-500 depending on the graphic card, I don’t want a hardcore gaming computer like Alienware, just want a plain one that can run CoD/NFS game series
Bump!
What do you currently have.
Ram type (ddr 1/2/3)

Do you have keyboard/mouse/speaker/screen..?
Go to Ebuyer.co.uk and I reckon 450 ish will get a decent PC
Any decent case
600watt Branded PSU (Trust me get a branded one)
Socket AM3 Mobo
4GB DDR3 Ram
AMD Phenom Quad Core
ATI 5770 Graphics Card
1TB HDD
DVD Writers
Get a cheap keyboard and something like aLogitech MX518 mouse.
Also get a 17 or 19″ CRT monitor off Ebay for practically nothing by doing a local area search. CRT picture quality is still excellent.
You should budget to spend your money on important things for gaming like Graphics card, CPU and not the other peripheral items.

I don’t have keyboard/mouse/speaker/screen but that won’t be in my 300-450 budget, I have spare money to buy them, but I have keyboard/mouse/speaker/screen for my other PC

Got links for it? Does it all compatible with others?
Here’s the best I could do using that site. Don’t be put off by the PSU it can run the system just fine

nobody is gunna be able to get them parts for 450, your post is as useless as a pen that doesnt work.
ontopic. i would take DREAM’s suggestion. cheaper then the 1 i PM’d you and better.
One of the newer xeons and the rest of the rig fitting in that budget? Please do try that and post a build if you can.
An Intel Xeon i7
Yeah pretty much all the quad core HT enabled 1366/1156 socket Xeons are technically better binned i7s

I was trying to refer to their pricing. Edited my previous post sound more like it.
I am looking at a pc capable of running blackops atm for ~300.
I am going with a company called Novatech. This is what I have so far…

TOTAL: 334.89
But you are probably gonna need a hardrive. With the one I mentioned above it will cost around 379
If you wanted to increase to 4GB RAM then it would be: 404
I hope this helps a little bit.

Is there a graphic card similar to the one on there but cost cheaper? And having 1x 4GB RAM better or 2x 2GB RAM or is both the same? My current budget is about 300-400 maximum because I need to buy monitor and keyboard and mouse, and would it be possible if I search for the components listed on the picture on different website like eBuyer or Dabs or Amazon will it still work and same? Just that my friend told me that buying of other sites might be cheaper if you know what I mean

Never heard of the brand before but I wouldn’t trust it, I will go for a good brand so my computer will last longer
You need a bigger PSU, without running a calculator I would 500watts plus, and REALLY trust me on this you do not under any circumstances want to buy a PSU from eBuyer which is not branded.
2 have blew up on me and 1 UPS also, they are certainly not worth taking a risk with considering you have a 150 Graphics card.
ou need a bigger PSU, without running a calculator I would 500watts plus
And with a calculator you would get around 300W max for any of the rigs post here so far
Look, for 650 us dollars, I was able to get a 1gb 5770, 400w corsair, 4gb ddr3 1600, a decent motherboard, a sweet case, 500gb hd, and thats about it. This was about a year ago though, so I would imagine you can get better parts. Also, it is necessary for you to get a full hd or close to full hd monitor if you are going to pay this much for the computer. The monitor should cost around 100-200 since it is the holidays.

Thats not the case.
I think yo go need to check it out on a few and see they will top 400watts easily when you start factoring everything in. From memory the 6800 series draws over 100 itself let alon if its overclocked.

The HD6850 draws a lot more than 100W but that’s not the point here. My rig with an i7 @ 4.4GHz with a highly overclocked GTX 480 draws around 480W from the wall and that’s not factoring effiency. The point is the OP needs a rig which is the absolute best he could get with the money and there isn’t a better PSU for the money than the Antec 380D Green. The PSU isn’t rated at it’s maximum power it is able to give you 380W of continous power and is a solid Seasonic S12II Bronze unit. It’s better than the similarly priced Corsair CX430. I would put in a better PSU if his budget allows it.
To answer the Question you asked about having 1×4 or 2×2.
I believe 2x2GB of ram is better. i cant remember the reason however but my friend was explaining to me when i asked him ages ago lol.

Really? Novatech is one of the top online PC retailers in the UK…They have got loads of awards…and have been very reliable for the last 20 times or so I have used them.

building your own computer is usually better.

Am I right in assuming that you didn’t look at the site then? Or are you just adding that on as a side note?
So how many Watts do I need for the PSU? and is there a graphic card similar to the one on the picture? I just want to build a computer that can last long and can play games
Bump! Want to buy all the parts and build it before Christmas, so need this to be solved as soon as possible since delivery will be slow since it near to Christmas
When it comes to power supply’s, Always choose either 1: Corsair 2: Antec or 3: OCZ
Up 2 you.

I am getting just 1 HDD and it’s 1TB Sata HDD and how many Watts do I need for the PSU and for the graphic card is there a cheaper one that is similar to ‘XFX HD 6850 1GB GDDR5 Dual DVI HDMI Mini Display Port Out Graphics Card’ that has HDMI and DVI supported
A GTX 460 is comparable in terms of power to a HD 6850, and recently, after the introduction of the aforementioned card, there`s been a big price drop and you can buy one for around 121 quid and upwards:

I searched for GTX 460 graphic card on Dabs and Amazon and here’s are the result, which one is better?

The ASUS ENGTX460 DirectCU is the best of the bunch as it`s been given a modest factory overclock. It`s a really great card for the price.

So GTX 460 is better than HD6850? And GTX 460 can run games like GTA/NFS/CoD and other games? And is the GTX 460 good on Power Consumption and Heat?
And I found ASUS ENGTX460 on Dabs that is 115.47 and the one on Amazon is 125.57 so are the items both the same?

Most new gamers in the world are using GTX 460. And there is a reason for that!. Get 2 460’s in SLI and you now have higher frames per second than the GTX 480.
Also, check this out see what you think. [1 Gig Edition]

OCZ? You got to be kidding me. Oh and it depends on the OEM more than the brand label. There’s a lot of good companies nowadaysSo GTX 460 is better than HD6850? And GTX 460 can run games like GTA/NFS/CoD and other games? And is the GTX 460 good on Power Consumption and Heat?
Yes, the card you linked to above at dabs for 115 Pounds is the ENGTX460 DirectCU model, with a slight over clocking of core, shader and memory speeds. As for power consumption, don`t forget to do your Google research. Do a search for:
ASUS ENGTX460 DirectCU review
and check out the reviews of the card that will tell you all about the price/performance in comparison to other similar cards, clock speed increases over the reference model, and power consumption.
The 460 DirectCU doesn’t have higher power consumption at stock. It’s a very mild overclock at stock voltage. You forget the most important features about the card which are the DirectCU cooler and the better bin on the cards than the other companies’ offerings. People regularly reach above 900 core on the card. The GTX 460 is a hair faster than the HD6850 for gaming but the HD6850 is newer, has nice stuff like morphological anti-aliasing, being able to connect 3 monitors and with the release of newer drivers it will just keep getting better. I would get a HD6850 right now
And you thinK that this is going to be relevant to someone with a 400 pound budget for a complete PC!? The fact that the GTX 460 that he is interested in is 35 less than the HD 6850 that you suggested, bringing the overall cost of the PC to under 400, is far more important.
Fair enough
My favorite brands of power supplies will be:
1. PC Power and Cooling. 2. Enermax. (Good choice of capacitors and such.)
3. Acbel (yeah good value for very low money.)
Of course you would want 80+ gold certified PSUs.
1. PC Power and Cooling.
Now owned by OCZ. They’re not nearly as good as they used to be. Their MKII Silencers are not made by Seasonic
I will check on Amazon/Dabs/eBuyer to see if there have GTX 460 1GB graphic card similar price to GTX 460 768MB, but I will see, and so I can remove the graphic card that is on the screenshot below and replace it with GTX 460,
And does the RAM compatible with the motherboard? and does PSU good enough with the graphic card and other stuff ‘Antec 380W EarthWatts Green PSU – 80 plus Bronze certified’ and on the screenshot is ‘AMD Athlon II X4 630’ good?
