Browsers slow to connect to internet/cutting but can ping?

August 6th, 2016

Guys when I turn on pc and start either Opera or FireFox at first they will not connect to the internet. Only after a couple mins they will finally connect and I can start browsing. When I cannot browse I go to cmd and ping the websites I am trying to access and I get a reply back. Also, now when I am browsing the internet will stop working through the browsers. I check my internet connection and it is showing that I am connected. It will work few mins than stop, work few mins than stop. Finally after a few mins it will work without any interruptions.
It seems if the internet was actually cutting out than it would show no network connection, and I also would not be able to ping. What you think? I am running vista, and AVG for virus protection. I have scanned and it shows nothing.

Check all your wiring is good first.
Rather than pinging the site do a tracert – that will show you if the issue is happening at your end or your ISP’s or the way they route their traffic.
To do this, you can use an app like Visualroute (which is pretty good IMO) or you simply open an elevated command prompt and use “tracert” instead of “ping” to the site.
Also, you may have picked up some malware, download Malwarebytes, update it, and then run a full scan in Safe Mode, tap F8 when you are booting to get into Safe Mode.
