Brothers In Arms Hell’s Highway error

I downloaded fam_a$$ BIA HH version.Many people said its working & few say it doesnt
I fall in the later category.The uploader & ripper himself posted a fix which even after installing doesn’t help much
my pc config is P4 3.0GHz,1gb ram,8600GT 512mb,XP SP2
I did have enough HDD while installing the game.
Installed the game without any glitch.
Can see & change the profiles or settings
When I start the game in Medium or High it crashes & displays the send error report to micosoft But when I start the game in low settings,the cinematic runs with a bit of lagging in high details scene
but when it finishes & the game is about begin then it crashes to desktop with the same above error msg
