Blackberry Battery

December 25th, 2013

I have Blackberry Curve (8520) and I charge it to Full before unplugging the charger but 1-2 days later, the battery dies and I have to recharge, but on my other phone, I can use it for 1 week and it still has battery, I know the Blackberry will use more battery as it’s a smartphone, what stuff do I need to disable on the Blackberry to get more battery out of it? and I have turned the Blackberry brightness to the lowest but sometime it goes bright for about 30 secs and then go back to dim, how do I always keep it on dim?
P.S – Will the battery apps help or will it use more battery? and do I charge my phone when the battery dies or charge it when it only has 1 bar left?

Don’t leave apps running, disable bluetooth and wifi.

i have the same problem with my battery, it only last half a day, i disabled bluetooth and wifi, along with buying a new battery of ebay and still only half a day of charge.
i have uninstalled most of the apps including bbm and still no change.
PS had the phone for over a year, guess they made it do this so i’ll buy another

Blackberry has terrible talk time, if your talking on your phone, expect it to die. Did you even look up the battery life on your phone before posting this?

No idea, never used a battery app. My only guess is it will attempt to disable things that may be using the battery. You can also try disabling GPS.
I also have my back-light timer turned down to the minimum 5 seconds. But this is not much help, blackberry’s just have terrible battery life.

Well, consider that about 4 actual hours of talk time at the most. My phone has never lasted more than a day when I’m talking on it, but on standby, it will go the whole weekend, 3 maybe 4 days.
Answer #6
– disable wifi and BT when not using
– update software of the device to latest
– use phone on 2G or EDGE instead of 3G or H
– never download “battery enhancement apps”
– backup ur info and do a complete OS reload and selective bring only minimum stuff that you need

Bah, Blackberrys, buy a real Windows smartphone (ppc)
Seriously though, I have a few smartphones for work use, and the battery life is great compared to Blackberrys. I have had a few Blackberries in my time, and just don’t like them.
