Answer #1
It seems you have some sort of failing hardware if htis is continuing or temperature problems. Try to rpelace the RAM with a spare and post some temperatures. use everest for htat.
Answer #2
how do u know its ram prob?
Answer #3
it sounds like the drive to me
is the hard drive name and or model listed in device mgr ?
Answer #4
ok so if its a ram problem, run memtest and see if its ram. If its a disk read error now it may be the HDD. Can you boot a portable XP and see if it still works or will it blue screen?
Answer #5
have no fear, the expert is here first of what are the full system specs?
did you add or replaced any hardware recently?
use everest ultimate to obtain temperatures/voltages
and post a screenshot
a thing that alot of ppl arent aware of is that
everytime that theres a bsod or an automatic restart
windows keep a log file about it with detailed information
these logs are kept in
c:\windows\minidump
rar em all and upload somewhere, ill have em analyzed

You can just get the BSOD error code and google it. It will have the info you need. To get the code, you need it from the Mr. Bluey. To stop Mr. Bluey, go to my computer>>right click>>properties>>advanced tab>>under startup anmd recovery click settings then under system failure un-check auto restart
use everest ultimate to obtain temperatures/voltages
and post a screenshot

How can he when he gets a disk read error on booting? You might as well check it in the BIOS
first of what are the full system specs?
Not really necessary. A problem pc is a problem pc. So its either the RAM or HDD. If they want, they can list the models for them but no need for extra info. In the long run PSU model might help ithats the cause but highly unlikely
Answer #7
my bad,i didnt read the original thread fully,he should check the HD with the
manufacturer diagnostic software, its freely available as for the bsod you are wrong, there could be various reasons
for each bsod, theres no static reason, alot of times its a bad driver
and with the logs the exact reason can be discovered
Answer #8
as for the bsod you are wrong, there could be various reasons
for each bsod, theres no static reason, alot of times its a bad driver

but not all are the same. Each one has its own code which can be googled to see why it occured. Theres bound to be alot of answers either on other forums, Microsoft etc
Answer #9
the bottom line is, while you can find a list of reasons for each BSOD it will not give you an EXACT answer as to what caused it
which can be obtained from the LOG in most cases
Answer #10
his error log points to a bad drive
best idea so far is to get the drive mfg diagnostic utility and check the drive
Answer #11
so do you think its ram prob or hard drive? because im about to buy a new hd
Answer #12
“guessing” hard drive because of the event log errors
hard to be sure without testing the drive
Answer #13
judging from the “disk read error” message i would say its highly unlikely the ram
and its the HD , but still as suggested by me and others, you should really get that HD
checked with the manufacturer diagnostic prog which is freely available on their site
Answer #14
I agree completely with
Answer #15

Answer #16
and i still say,get the HD checked with the manufacturer diagnostic util
just to be 1000% sure , other then a bad HD it can also be a bad ide or sata controller
so if you have another pc available it might be a good idea to check that HD in both and compare results
Answer #17
