Battlefield 2: Online Multiplayer issue

I just installed BF2 Deluxe Edition for the 1st time – valid copy from the store, with updated patches installed, but the game won’t connect to online mode… says Play Now is unable to locate…
Any idea? My firewall has BF2 enabled… so not sure what other options to go about in playing BF2 online.

play now is unable to locate what? it should say more than just “play now is unable to locate”

The server list shows no active games.
secondly, if I click play now, it says “Unable to find a valid Play Now Server.”
Does this after searching for a minute…

sounds to me like you have not applied all the patches, what version of the game are you running?

but its weird how when i run patch update 1.5 (BF2_Patch_1.50), it stops the install and prompts that I already have a “newer version installed… and stops…
But i’m sure I have 1.1 after looking at the BF2 console…

trying to run exe. BF2_Patch_1.50

yeah thats definitely the problem, you might want to try reinstalling it all from scratch.. its not allowing you to join any servers or showing any servers because there are none running the same version as you

why wud it not let me install v 1.5 …

no idea, just try a fresh install and try patching it again.. if you still cant patch it your best bet would be to contact EA support
