That just means that it is making it into a video file rather than putting it back on a DVD…You have the option there for an .avi file..
Another way is to use AutoGK etc as shown on the sticky tutorial..

i once downloaded a pdf tutorial for ripping DVDs to mkv files, but you needed like 7 programs for it, and when i did everything it said (it was kinda hard, because it was outdated and the newest verions of the programs looked different) and with the last step i was stuck. Kinda sucked. Because it was a bit outdated, the OP didn’t answer on my questions

I use the sticky and it works great(fpr movies only). Not for all my DVDs though. Had to use xilisoft dvdripper for the dvds with more than an episode.

and what about ripping it to mkv?
small size (like 300 or 400MB) or bigger (m-HD: 1,5 or 2,5 GB)
