Anyone know a way to convert many MKV to AVI quickly

Hi,
i downloaded a TV show for someone but they cant playback MKV through xbox. Does anyone know how to quickly convert 100+ MKV files to AVI or MP4. Or any other solution

it’s called a Video converter. Any one will do. I like to use VSO Software’s “ConvertXtoVideo 1 Ultimate”. But “fast” is always relative, it all depends on your system hardware and the codecs used on the source files.

If you want to go from MKV to MP4, there is no need to convert
Files can be moved from one to the other in seconds. http://www.xmedia-recode.de/en/download.html
Add the mkv file; on the video tab choose ‘copy’, on the audio tab choose ‘copy’, add to the queue and then convert.
You just are moving the streams from one container to the other that way.

MKV is a container, and so is MP4. You can repack them with ffmpeg, or a GUI for it like WinFF that will give you easy batch processing.

if you are going to convert to mp4 first make sure your device or media player can play it so try one first

, you taught me this and I still appreciate it. I do this exact same thing for the same reason. You can select the xbox360 file output type(mp4). Works great and fast! Have not tried doing batch files so I cannot comment on that. I do mine 1 at a time and one 1.5 gig average file size gets done in like 15-20 seconds on my old pc. This is by far the easiest thing I have used to make them work for my xbox.
