Any way of getting firefox to autoscroll?

August 6th, 2016

I want an add-on/app of some sort that will auto scroll a page for you without any user interaction.
So you set it up at a speed you want and it’ll scroll down at the speed you set…
I want it because reading long .txt files as I do on FF would be so much easier if I didn’t have to have a keyboard or mouse near me.
So, any help?
Edit:
Something like is found on this site is the functionality I am after

Of course, I’d want it built into FF…

SmoothWheel Addon

Hope it helps.

I don’t think that’s what I’m after… Thanks for trying though =]

Just came across this one while browsing for an extension to manage the search plugins, which I have organize search engines but I think it was made for an older version of Firefox so does not work fully. If anyone knows of something that can move search plugins and make folders then I would be glad to know about it.
Anyway back on topic, this one was made by a musician and is supposed to have configurable auto scroll speed so I thought it might be what your looking for.

If anyone knows a search organizer plugin then let me know 😉
[EDIT] I found WebSearchPro which works fairly well and allows organisation of the Search engines. Not quite as good as the original organize Search engines plugin for earlier versions of Firefox but it still does it okay.

Click the scroll wheel once. Move the mouse up or down to adjust speed. done.
Edit: I think I misunderstood. Copy/paste them to M$ word or something.

I might just get Opera and use those, I have neutral feelings for Opera.

That’s exactly the kind of thing I’m looking for, but it’s a tad slow. ON my 1440×900 resolution monitor it takes an age for it scroll even on top speed.
Thanks anyways for the help everyone, I might try opera like ” said =]

I didn’t realise that the extension was so slow, people had commented about it but it wasn’t until I tried it that I saw the problem……So I fixed it……my good dead for the day 😉
So try these. They are both the same except for the icon. Okay so I am not much good at icons. lol But the scrolling is a lot faster now Maybe that will be enough for you so you can stick with your favourite browser.

Thank you!!!! Works perfectly. Seriously, cannot thank you enough Make sure you submit that to the firefox add-ons site, I know I’m not the only one that needed this
Answer #9
It is not for me to submit someone else’s extension to Mozilla. I only made fairly minor alterations to it and it is not my code.
The original extension maker needs to consider that the extension could be far more useful if the for musicians part is removed and made into a more general extension for anyone who needs auto scrolling. Only comments to his extension can do that.
Answer #10
I understand, you just changed a couple of variables but can’t calim it as your own because the majority of the code is still his. I left a comment for him, hope he reads them =]
Again, I can’t thank you enough!
