Any software to add subtitles for playback on a PS3?
September 7th, 2013
I watch a lot of foreign language films and it really annoys me to not be able to use my PS3 for them without hard coded subs. Is there a piece of software that will let me add the subtitles into the video file (without re-encoding) in a way that will allow the PS3 to recognise them?
Thanks
i would also second this. i hate having to re encode an entire movie just to add subitles. sorry i cant be of more help
How to read files with subtitles on PS3?
1 – Run AVIAddXSubs.exe.
2 – Where it says File Name – choose the fate of the AVI video (subtitles have to be in the same folder with the same name as the video).
3 – Choose the output folder (folder where does the AVI video after being “converted”)
4 – In the “Configuration”, choose character set in “East Europe” language code and Portugal (PT).
5 – Choose the font you like more (I use Arial).
6 – In Align choose “Center.”
7 – Back to the original tab and excel Create Subtitled DivX File to insert subtitles in the video.
important:
Note 1) The PS3 does not automatically turn on the subtitles when they are playing the video on PS3, the subtitles appear to have to press triangle (with the video playing) and press subtitle options, and they appear
Note 2) The process is very fast and does not reencode the movie.
