mkv HD Files juddery playback

August 6th, 2016

Wonder if you guys can help. I occasionally get juddery playback on mkv files. more recently band of brothers uploaded by the amazing HDTV-fan. WHat would be the main cause of this do you think? low Ram low CPU speed or poor graphics card.
I have the following set up
Core 2 Duo E6300
Intel 965GF mainboard
1GB ram – 2X 512MB DDR2 PC4300
Sata HDD Western Digital not sure of model.
Hope you guys can shed some light I am seriously considering purchasing the following.

As is a good price and money is a bit tight this time of year.
Thanks in advance.

CPU and 1gb RAM should be enough actually. The video card doesn’t encode mkv. It’s your processor that encodes this kind of file (I think).
What does the task manager say: CPU and RAM usage?
I think you’re problem is a missing codec, or the media player.
Use VLC-player or Mediaplayer classic as player, with CCCP or K-lite codec.
Good luck mate.
