Adsense questions

I’m thinking about trying out adsense and had a few questions before I got started…
1. I know in order to get paid, you must generate enough clicks or impressions so that it equals or is greater than 100 dollars. how many clicks/impressions does it take to reach 100 dollars?
2. and anyone who is currently using adsense, about what percentage of people visiting your site actually click on the ads?
