Accidently deleted external hdd.need recovery

April 1st, 2014

I accidentally deleted my 500gb external. Cancelled it while it was deleting. Tried a recovery software. Now i need access to some files/videos. Now only a few of files are working, others won’t open. btw this happen a few months ago, i just didn’t bother needing the files then.
1. any way to save corrupted files?
2.how do i separate good files from bad?
3.any way to keep this from happening again?

Answer #1
Try win undelete, and recover disk, can’t remember for sure, but I think it was win undelete found every file on a HDD that I had formatted. It does not matter how a HDD is connected to a computer, internal, external, its only a port, a HDD is a HDD. Win undelete should recover the files and they probably won’t be corrupt because it will recover all of the file.

If the recovered files don’t work, then some of their data was overwritten and there is not much you can do Try some of the apps in my sig if there is any better luck.

I don’t wish to be patronising, but don’t do again whatever you did last time
If you can explain how you “accidently deleted” it, then perhaps a solution can be offered.
Edit – Try the above methods to see if you can recover your files, if not post back.
