A little help with FF

February 10th, 2020

I just came from out, getting wet in the rains ..
Switched on, and what I can see is my whole firefox like new
There are no bookmarks, all settings have been resetted. All extensions are intact.
I dont really get what might have caused this, but any help in this matter ?

Answer #1
Something similar happened to me a few times before (but the settings I changed kept resetting after every restart of Firefox). I fixed it by doing a System Restore to an earlier date.. however there might be a better way, I’m not sure.
But just as a tip, add-ons such as FEBE or Password Exporter can backup your Firefox stuff in case of situations like this.

I recall this happening to me about 5 months ago. I also recall I was able to recover the passwords and bookmarks. Though, I do not remember what I did exactly so I will have to guess. First of all, close FF if it is open. Then copy your profile folder from within %appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles to another folder. After that, move the %appdata%\Mozilla folder into any other place. Then, uninstall FF. Now, reinstall FF then make sure it is closed. After that, copy the profile folder to %appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles. Now, open the FF browser. Do you have everything back?
