A group of people stole my YouTube video. How to report it?

He’s still already got about 12000 views (while mine less than 1500) and I’m trying to find a way to report it, but everything in this YouTube reporting system is stupid like they gave a 5 year old kid to make it.
And if I’m trying through this “Copyright infringement” thing it asks me for my company???? My telephone number and my full name and address.

thing is, you dont own the video, as it is footage from the game, technicaly cryteck own it, unless youve done something with it above and beyond the original scope of the game (ie cut and dubbed it – machination) so you realy have no claim on it in a legal sence, and because of this YouTube are unlikely to do anything about it
also, once you post something on a site like youtube, you realy loose any control over it. you could try messaging the other guy, but the best you could hope for is for him to acnowlege his source.

But, first of all, it’s a custom made level, so it still has a content which was made by me, second, I’ve recorded it and also imporved the video colors (and the game is already out, so it’s basically legal, not “owned by cryteck”), and from the strange comments he made in his stolen post I can see that he’s a fat fa-g and he doesn’t care, he just pretends it’s his so he’ll gets more views.
And because he got stupid subscribers it seems like in ten days it would have about 300000 views, just because he stole my video.
Maybe people here can post my real video in other places so it would get the views? Even though if it’s not exactly an important video, it’s annoying that he stole it and now he gets tons of views. It would eventually become a popular video and they’ll think it’s his video and mine would disappear.
its the same with anything you upload, at some point some1 is gonna take it and pass it off as there own, take RS links for example, ive had a few of my posts copied word for word with there links in place of mine and i cant do a thing about it
Yeah but that’s a video I made and he just takes the “succes” of my video for himself.
And also, after I’ve replied to him in the video and his account, “someone” posted a “this is ~love~” comment in another video of mine (a compilation of 3D graphics I did), and guess what? Many of “his” favorites are of this “theft”. So basically he doesn’t even care, he just has no life.

There’s no way to contact them in email? None of their “reports” is good and that’s hard to explain in them as now it seems that he tries to “harass” me with another account of him.
*By the way, they can’t fix ? It’s extremely slow.
If it’s copyrighted and you don’t own it (which it probably is copyrighted), they won’t do anything. You don’t own the rights to it. People steal my videos and repost them, it sucks, but youtube won’t take it off.

Now YouTube should seriously close those account, that like a “stealing attack”. They (or he) are probably seriously bored. I wasn’t mind so much if it had a 100 views maybe, but when it got 10 times more than mine and it gets popular rather than my video, and then even getting stolen by more people, it gets really annoying.

Again, I said that I wasn’t care as much if the re-upload wasn’t getting almost 20000 a day, and my original less than 2000 by now.
given by the amount of entrys in the youtube comunity help about this its not an uncommon occurance, and i would expect you would have a difficult time getting youtube to do anything about it. good luck, if your persistant enough (and enough of a pain in the ass) they may eventualy do something about it

And, they don’t have a simple email just to send a report? Because if it was stole to 3 different account by the same person, or something like that, they should delete these accounts.
*Edit: Now he tried to curse me in my video and say that I stole it in another video, and just deleted the other comments I did and blocked me or something because I can’t comment again.

i can see that you are annoyed. But this is a site. Lets be honest pretty much everyone here is ‘ripping’ off movies or programmes. i don’t think that you’ll get the sympathy that your looking for here.
Dude, it’s clearly your fault. You in no way copyrighted your video. You should have put a intro in the beginning or end saying “Made by blah blah”. And who cares about video views seriously, are you trying to become e-famous or something from this video?

And even this video is not exactly important, when someone have one video with a lot of views, usually he can earn views much faster for other video if you want to make some more serious videos.
And, anyway, a million views or 10, he still copied the video and just banned my comments.
i understand your frustration, but I doubt you have much chance of getting his video removed. my advice at this point would be to let it go, and make a bigger, better video with your name at the start and end

You tube takes the time to get down much more videos every minute, so if they just had a normal reporting system that they would really pay attention to rather than this dense tree of stupid options it would have been much better and easier.
But I can’t get the stupidity of people, if he already put this small “credit” (if you can call it like that), why wouldn’t he just delete it and that it. He probably really likes to get views from other people’s videos.
beacuse it takes time remove the credit from it. why would he bother if there are videos that he doesnt have to edit to rip off?

You didn’t understand what I said. He decided to add a small “credit” in the video details saying “Original video by SpectrumYT” and gave a link (even though it’s not even seeable without expanding the details), so I said, how stupid could he possibly be that he put this credit and didn’t already delete the video.
Well in the video no credits were given to anyone. I mean how do we know you didn’t steal this?
You deserved to get it stolen if you didn’t put your name on the video. That’s like me finding a car on the side of the road, keys in the ignition, no registration in there or any evidence that it belonged to you, and then I drove away in it and the next day you claim that it’s yours. You have no proof, you must always put your name on your work. I understand that it is your work i’m just saying how it looks from my point of view. You should take ‘s advice and just forget about it. Make a bigger and better video. I see that he gave you credit for the video, that was nice of him. But I don’t think he will delete it or youtube will look into this seeing as you have no proof that it is yours.
Next time put a picture at the end of your video saying “Made by Spectrum”
Even if you’ll steal a car and you didn’t see IN IT any information about who owns it, there are plenty of other things. And by the way, if you don’t know, there’s a thing (I forgot it’s name) were the police leaves car just like you mentioned, just that it has a hidden camera in it and they wait with a transmittor near by until some idiot takes it, and then he’s fu**ed-up because they’ll arrest him.
You can’t just take it, and anyway where ever you’ll search over the internet, mine is the first date it became available, rather than him that took it from me 2 days after.

Yes that was nice of him because he gave you credit, even though he stole your video, atleast he gave credit to you unlike the credit you should’ve given yourself in the same video. And the car stealing was just a metaphor for your situation. And you ask what is wrong with the way I think? I mean seriously you’re whining about a 45 second video.
Just load up FarCry2, and record something else. It was your fault for not giving yourself credit in your video. I’m done with this thread, argueing over a measly 45 second video. Sickens me.

I think you are out of luck, the best you can do is comment in the comments section and hope some people read it. If it’s not copyrighted there is little you can do legally.

And he already took it off (he’s seriously strange, he after that started to comment on my videos and in my profile, subscribe and ask for “friend invite”). But anyway they (he at least) blocked me every time I’ve posted a comment so I wouldn’t be able to post again, and another one told him not to steal but he also deleted that message.
But there are 2 more strange british which call themselves “team teabag”, I don’t get where these people come from. He don’t want to take it off and he send me a barely understandable message and I think that he said “what do you want from me I can do this by myself I wanted to show this video” or something. Well, if you can do it by yourself THEN DO IT BY YOURSELF AND DELETED MY VIDEO FROM YOUR ACCOUNT. A monkey have a better logic than them.
You’ve already been told just about every answer there is. Nobody on here can do anything, chalk it up to a lesson learned, and next time put in a watermark. Get camtasia and before you encode the videos take out photoshohp make a little logo and paste it inside the video in camtasia.
