1 TB HDD how would you partition for win7
August 5th, 2016
So I have a 2 new p.c’s on order in parts and will be assembling them my self both are exactly the same.
my question is how would you allocate space for win7 the usual office stuff and maya, cinema 4d, photoshop,
Antivirus , firewall (need a good make for both if anyone can) Other generic programs and of-course its a gaming system. I will be downloading most games from here at bb and the windows its self (need a good link for a bootable win7 64 bit cracked etc..)
how would you partition this drive? or would you just leave it whole (IMO I dont agree to leaving it whole unless proven otherwise)
If you are installing Windows in 1TB partition it would make things slow after you add a lot of stuff. It would be best to make an 100GB partition for the OS and the rest you can leave as one huge one
Exactly, at least 50GB on OS, the rest you can do whatever you like.
ye ty guys, I would have thought so just wondered if some would create more than 1 partition. anywayzzzz
I’ll sort it all when the stuff gets here after new year
Having more than 2 partitions per physical HDD is pointless, each partition eats up a bit of space.
yeah true totally forgot about that but with 1TB its not going to be that noticeable thanks for the eye opener though. what about :-Antivirus , firewall (need a good make for both if anyone can) for Win7
-need a good link for a bootable win7 64 bit cracked etc..
-as for the partitions and programs would you install them off the OS partition or in the OS Partition as I would like to try keep this section untouched. I know AV programs and firewalls office crap must go there but what about all the other little clutter programs. Stuff’em on the OS i’m guessing, also I know that no matter where you install something it will wright and save/edit stuff to the OS partition. Just wanted a few opinions
As for the OS you can look in WBB and look at a big reply thread for 7.
Security program has to be NOD 32 SS or Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 which I use. Since I can’t be bothered to crack the security program, I bought a 2 year license which is pretty cheap.

Go with freeware. Avira + Comodo Firewall + Malwarebytes + SuperAntiSpyware. I tell ya if the companies of those products paid me each time i recommended i would be rich by now As for installing things you only install your antivirus protection stuff in OS partition. Rest of stuff can go in secondary partition, cuz you dont want your OS partition to get clogged up by stuff. Either way like 1/4 of the things go into OS partition even if you set to install to another one.
go to Apps section for W7 link. i would of upload for ya but its 3GBs something its too big for my slow connection plus waste of time cuz ~love~ gets removed within few hours.
for your protection, as i was told and many others too, use: -anti virus: Avira AntiVir (free)
-firewill: Comodo firewall (free)
-anti malware/spyware and such: Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware also free and that is a really good combo and if u want to scan sometime if u aren’t sure that those won’t fail, Spybot – search and destroy and spyware doctor (but be sure to not let them start up on boot because u already have 2 extra start ups and maybe those all together would conflict )
awesome stuff guys thanks again, no need to upload lol im sure there is 10000 links for it :p just wondering which version to get but anyway thanks again guys
