Roccat vs Razer

July 23rd, 2013

Can anyone help me to decide between the Roccat Kova and the Razer Abyssus?
I really dont know which one I should take, my old one is falling apart, heeelp xD
maybe you even can recommend another mouse.

Answer #1
Well, I have a Roccat Kone, and, although I am very pleased with it, (Thanks to RS, I would never spend so much on a mouse), it has quality issues, especially with the scroll wheel, which is probably the most used “button” by me, and it mars the experience. :/
Apart from that, I have a Razer Destructor (Again thanks to RS, I can never spend $40 on a Mousepad), and, it has already started to wear off. Not something I would expect from that expensive a mousepad, in such a short period of time. :/
So, essentially, both have issues, although not necessarily with the products you listed.
Of the two you listed, I would pick the Kova, simply because it has more features, the Abyssus looks a bit basic. Further, do consider the Logitech G Series Mice, from what I have heard, they are phenomenal. Ofc, these are my views only.
Answer #2
thnks for your respond, I also taught about picking the g seris, but theay are a bit too expisiv for now
I guess my choice will be the kova
Answer #3
go for Razer deathadder or copperhead (:
Best mice i ever bought, owner for 3 years of both
Answer #4
I’ve got the razer mamba, I’m very happy with it. I’d defo go for the deathadder if I were you, it’s just the mamba but without wireless afaik.
Answer #5
haha, if I saw it right the mamba is about 99 britisch pounds, my limit was like to 40 €
so for now the Kova is good choice I think.
BUT if you wanna buy and send me a mamba I wont say no
Answer #6
I have a logitech G400, Had all versions of the roccat kone and each one has broken within the same month maybe it’s just the way I use it.
Answer #7
Never used roccat but I am about to buy a blackwidow and deathadder to go with my new pc =D
Answer #8
Well, I bought a roccat mouse once and was displeased. It would not work on my gaming mousepad (really bad sensor) and had to send it back. The support I got was also in german when i contacted them in english.
Go with Razer.
Answer #9
I’m out of the loop on what sensors both of these mice are using but either way I suggest you get a IE 3.0 while they last. There has been panic among people for this mouse being out of stock everywhere and some over hyped prices. The special editions with different colors can be still picked at reasonable price. Seeing how much you want to spend on the Roca and Razer price seems not a concern for you.
I have the IE3.0 and it’s the best mouse shape/sensor I’ve used. With a big thick carpet (QCK Heavy) and it’s the bomb. One more thing, this mouse is for low sense players. So just 400dpi (above 30cm/360)
Answer #10
I have a Deathadder, and it was the best mouse i’ve had so far.
Answer #11
Buying an Abyssus is a gamble as you might get one with jitter. People have more luck with the LoL edition of the mouse. Kova’s Pixart sensor has way lower malfunction/perfect control speed (a bad thing) compared to the Avago S3668/S3888. I assume you want a claw grip mouse? The CM Spawn is also a viable alternative.
