Headphones or Sound Card Problem

Sound is not coming from my headphones i have inserted them in the back port and then front port but same result i have tried another headphone but the same result i have tried installing the driver again
i have also placed another hdd in my computer does it affect my speaker
i dont think so because speaker port is on the back port so …. but all this mess happened after i install another hdd in my computer plz reply …..

If your in Win 7, open sound properties (Win+R > mmsys.cpl) and you can see if your headphones are plugged in or not in the Playback tab. If it’s there, make sure the volume is turned up and its not muted.

If you are using a pci/pci-e sound card, check it is showing properly in device manager
start > run > devmgmt.msc
You can also try re-seating the card and check you haven’t knocked a cable off when you installed the hdd.
(SmAsHeDr’s method above applies to Vista and XP also to check it’s not muted,)

Tried what? Do you see the device in sound properties? You need to provide us more details.
Your making it hard to help you. If you want help, you need to do the leg work. Not going to pry the information from you.
Have not even told us what OS your running, etc…

Check windows driver from Device manager or check your sound disabled from BIOS…
