Does my PC need upgrade?

October 27th, 2013

don’t know anything about hardware but managed to built a computer exactly 2 years ago and got these parts:
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black
Asus M4A78T-E
HIS HD 5750
Kingston 2x2GB DDR3
I bought this PC mostly just to play MW2
but I don’t really play other games.
Though I do want a PC that can handle any games should I ever want to play it.
So, since I don’t follow computer news, can someone tell me if this setup is/was actually any good?
Also, is this setup still considered good enough for today?
I just want an above average fast system.
and my budget is “best bang for the buck”
any suggestions for upgrades?

Answer #1
it’s okay
you might want a new graphics card though
Answer #2
Your budget is pretty vague! Best bang for a $500 or best bang for $2000?!
But your system is good and everything seems fine except GPU, unless you plan to game. Which if you do, then you should upgrade your graphics card.

No dont upgrade your pc. Better a new one with new hardwares.
Otherwise I think your pc can still run new games like
skyrim
Dota 2
Saint rose
Batman
etc
Just download and try it out if it works. If not then just buy a new pc. Its better with a new gaming computer in the long run.
if your pc can still run those new games then your pc is still good for todays specs.
Answer #5
Throw in a 6870 for instance and your good for a frame rate boost.
Answer #6
Pretty Decent imo.
Upgrade the GFX Card, if you want to run it at better framerates at Full HD.
Remember though don’t get a too big and good one without thinking about your PSU.
You might run short on power.
Answer #7
That mobo is easy to use with crossfire – upgrade the gpu as people have said (depending on your psu), you can also stick some more RAM in it (note 32 bit Windows will only utilise max 4GB).
