Alright, which graphics card to chose?

I currently have Nvidia 7500 LE of 512mb, but I have heard on googlings&even here on bb that it sucks..
So I need to buy a new one.. But I dont know what one?
Some additional info;
I prefer Nvidia
I have PCI-E slot
My whole pc is AMD anthlon x2 4600+ of the HP 7000 series.
(It will support the power sorce right?)

I would buy the XFX GeForce 8600 GT 512 MB PCI-E
But why is this one much cheaper, and twice bigger then XFX GeForce 8600 GTS 256 MB PCI-E
What is the difference, I wonder..
I heard XFX GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB PCI-E is very good, but a little expensive I think. But if someone says that I MUST get that one, then I dont have much of a choise

Amd anthlon X2 4600+ Dual Core
3GB ram total; 2x 512 mb of unknown mhz, and 2x 1gb of 800Mhz
2,42 Ghz
OS; Windows XP Media Center Edition, SP 2
I want to run games at 1024×748(my desktop settings).
With details at ATLEAST medium, and have very stable framerate..
Playing D.I.R.T is giving me about 3fps and a huge ms.
Having everything on low still sucks but runs a little smoother..
The intro is also giving me some stops a little, because its loading while playing this intro movie. I checked out and it uses 100% of my cpu or so.. And I have 3gb ram!
Sega Rally on the 1024×800 settings with settings on medium/high.
And ofcourse more of the new games, such as Crysis+The Witcher+DIRT
And more of these.. Cant forget the coming Assasins Creed ofc…
Well that was kinda what I want, note; I want a very stable framerate, with medium settings.
If someone could advice me a good card for a fair price..
My friend also just suggested me a 1gb card- I cant find any anywere tho.

Just because a card is bigger, doesn’t always mean better.
I learnt that the hard way by wasting $110. Look for specs and stuff. i’d say go for ATI, much better cards than nVidia. HD Series? X1900+ ?

The 8800 GT is probably the best value for money card in the market at this moment if ur lookin to make a sound investment I suggest u get the 8800 GT but if ur Lookin for a decent framerate on medium settings , ur on the Right track.( with the 8600)

Its hard for me to make a choise between ATI cards, maybe you could post a link with a list, and tell me what to look for?

7600gt can probably play dirt on medium
