Vista HELP!

ok, my friend needs help with his vista, he got a laptop and decided to downgrade it to xp pro, and now when he wants to install vista it says u do not have geniune windows, anyone know what it means and what he has to do, im quite confused.

It means he doesn’t have a legit CD-Key.

what do u mean his new copy of vista isnt legit. or the XP versino he currently has is not legit.

is this an upgrade version of vista
is he trying to install vista from the XP desktop ?
can he boot from the vista disk and install it that way ?
