Answer #1
450~500 should be fine. a GTX260 needs 500, so 4500 should be fine for a 8600.
Im not sure though
Answer #2
750watts it a hardcore gamer i guess … this is massive juice BTW 550 will work Ok but you need a decent one …… be sure to get appropriate one for your GPU pins …
Answer #3
500 Watts or over…
Answer #4
500W should be plenty for that. however, it’s also important to get a decent power supply, it has to safe, need to be able to handle peaks but be stable, etc. the next brands are well known for their good power supplies: OCZ, coolermaster, silverstone. brands that I hear good things about but can’t confirm: antec, thermaltake, chieftech. bad brands: sweex, trust, most of those allround brands tbh.
Answer #5
500 if you buy a good brand else but more.
Answer #6
Thank you for the replies, can someone send me a link to good power supply please.

A small PSU would be sufficient for what he has now, but if he ever wants to expand his system, then having a PSU that can cope with it would be an advantage and would mean he doesn’t have to go out and buy another.
I have a Corsair HX 520 in mine and it is a very good PSU. That would probably be sufficient for anything but very power hungry graphics cards. Otherwise the 620 model might be worth considering.

600Watts for continuous usage. Recommend a Corsair 600 one.

The graphics card does tend to be the big power draw in a system.

I doubt it, the best you could get is a replacement if they were still under warranty.

why is the Corsair 550W VX cheaper than the Corsair 520W HX, if the VX one has more Watts?

I have an 800watt but i have the ATI Radeon 4870×2 which is power hungry, but you shouldnt need anymore than that. Just be werey that if he decides to get another hard drive, your gonna need a bit more juice to power both hard drives and a video card.
Answer #18
Anything 500W+ with an 80+ rating would be the smartest decision.

Because it’s not just about power output, the HX line are the top models with features such as modular cables and triple 12V lines. Modular cables mean you only plug in the cables you need which reduces clutter inside the case.
I think it was eBuyer that I got mine from.
VX= value line
This OCZ isn’t bad and at a good price and might be worth considering if you are on a tight budget. They did buy PC Power and Cooling which make some of the best and most expensive PSU’s. I would recommend you read a few reviews on the web before purchasing.

I will add that OCZ has excellent support as I have dealt with them before with memory that wasn’t as good as I was expecting. It worked, so there was no reason for them to exchange it but they did and I got some newly released memory which some of the first in my country which worked very well.

500w will be enough.. ~Blaze
