1GB flash disk not formatting and showing up as 8 MB

Hi,
I have one of those SR2 Bullet shaped usb flash drives.
i found it after having lost it in a drawer, and windows said it needed to be formatted, but when i go to format it it shows up as 8 MB. But no matter what i try it wont format.
This is really annoying me as it was a good drive.
Any ideas on how to get it working again?

What windows you running?
can you choose FAT32 or anything else?

Have you tried a formatter NOT windows – liek the Hp Format Util?
Else, toss it and buy a new one, you can get a 4G flash for $8 now (aud)

Yeah i have tried other formatters, i think ill just throw it away, thanks for the help tho.
