Help needed with formatting my USB flash drive

Hi guys,
recently when i connected my pen drive to the computer, it said that it needs formatting before using … so I tried formatting it .. but then a message comes as ‘ Windows was unable to complete the format ‘ ///
after that the message window saying ‘ needed to be formatted to use’ appears .. i tried giving for mat again, but the same thing happens again and again ….
there’s no important files in my pen drive .. I just want it to work again …
please help me guys …

Try on a different usb port or a different computer..If same thing happen then maybe the usb pen is dead..

obviously you’ve tried to erase the stick & format in “manage” on windows 7?

The most common fault that occurs with usb drives is the crystal that controls the frequency changes slightly (old age, usually; hard knocks or over-voltage, sometimes).
Access is controlled by it, it under-pins all of the usb concept – even a working crystal that changes by 2% will make the drive useless.
Your problem sounds like this – it means a dead drive.
You can repair it if you have “leet” soldering skills and a new crystal… but, really, a new flash drive is cheaper aand easier!

You might have some luck with a partitioning tool that also allows for raw access with file names (I think disk director does this, it’s been a while since I’ve needed to do it).
Are you trying to recover some very important files? – Raw access might help, but it’s time consuming.. very..
