Playing A Dowloaded Ps2 Game On Ps3

Is it possible to play a copy version or dowloaded version of a ps2 game
on a ps 3 console?

I dont know anything about modding or stuff like that so far my ps3 doesnt play ps2 games but there would be a patch in the store…
