Is it possible to use Laptop as a monitor

My monitor broke, but the computer works fine. I was wondering If I could hook my computer up to the laptop and use it as a monitor. Is it possible, if yes how.

i dont think you can, laptops only provide a video out port.

The way you hook up a computer to a monitor is with this blow wire. The laptop I am using has a port for such a wire, so you could hook it up.
Im wondering if it’s safe too, or do you need to have the laptop off when you do it, or anything else.

You should be able to, i mean they have the VGA Output although it is ‘output’ not ‘input’ but worth a try, maybe get a dual male vga cable and test it out. Can’t promise anything but worth a try.

I plugged it in for a couple of sec and the screen started flickering on and off so I unplugged it. Do I have to have the laptop off because when it is turned on, it is taking signals from the laptop computerwhat to show. If its off then maybe only the screen of the laptop will be turned on.
Jordan, not sure what a dual male vga cable is, is it the blue wire that you normally use for monitor-computer?

Nah doesn’t work, I tried it before with a couple laptops I had and it didn’t work. Both the laptop and the PC are giving an output so nothing happens, neither is excepting an input.

Only VGA out, meaning you can only use another monitor next to your Laptop, but the laptop itself as a monitor isn’t possible I’m afraid

What if laptop is off?
This laptop has a password that I don’t know, so I want to know for sure if I try it. Otherwise I wont be able to get back on. Onless the laptop starts taking input from computer.

You could always run the Laptop separately on your network and VNC into your normal computer
Same effect
