Far Cry 2 won’t start at all

hey guys i got Far Cry 2… it ran on my friends PC.. bt on my laptop it gives an error after clicking on farcry2.exe “the app can’t run d3dx9_38.dll was not found”
i have intel core 2 duo 2.26 GHz
GeForce 9600M GT 512mb dedicated
4gb ram
320gb HDD
Win Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit
its a HP Dv7t-1025nr
plz help!!
even crysis won’t start after clicking crysis.exe!!!
the only game i that ran is Assasin’s Creed and it runs perfectlly at Med Settings!!

Install new nvidia drivers like 178.80?

Isnt that a DX 9 Driver?
Re-Install DirectX

Re install the lastest version of Direct X, and update your drivers as well.

All you need to do is update your directX from the microsoft website
