dissapearing drive

im running windows 7 ,when i boot the pc up my dvd writer is showing then after a short while 3 mins or so it dissapears if i put the pc in sleep mode the awaken it the dvd writer is there again i have the latest updates ,this has got me stumped any help would be appreciated thank you in advance

could be a power thing.
try changing the power connection see if that works

never worked i uninstalled windows 7 and loaded xp all works fine put windows7 back on same prob so it is defo something with windows 7 grrrr
